Program for parliament to go with less paperwork

Sri Lanka’s Environment Ministry says it has decided to implement a program to reduce paper usage within the parliament.

Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that many documents, books, and paper material are seen on the MPs’ tables during each day of Parliament sessions.

The minister said he would propose to the Speaker to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee to implement a program that would reduce the paper usage at parliament and that the program would come into effect from 2022 January.
