Two chartered flights of essential medicines worth 35 million RMB (1.8 billion LKR) gifted by China will arrive in Colombo today (27) to support the prevailing medicine shortage in the country.
In Jun & Sept, had already donated 23 mln RMB (1.2 bln LKR) medicines to Sri Lanka.
With a total volume of 151.25 cubic meters and weight of 28.64 metric tons, the consignment consists of:
- 15,000 vials of Human Albumin Solution
- 330,300 doses of Rabies Vaccine for Human Use (Vero Cell) Freeze-dried
- 7,500 vials of 23-Valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine (PPSV23)
- 22,020 vials of Human Immunoglobulin (ph4) for IV use; 5)
- 170,240 syringes of Recombinant human granulocyte Colony-Stimulating factor injection.
The handing-over ceremony will be held at the Ministry of Health later today.
