Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohamed Rizwan has ordered the exhumation of the body of Nimesh Sathsara, for a post-mortem examination.
The exhumation is scheduled for April 23, after a request by the CID and the Colombo JMO.The parents of the deceased had previously filed a motion through their legal representatives, expressing suspicions about the circumstances of their son’s death.
They requested a re-examination by a three-member expert medical committee. The court had taken this request into account during the previous hearing.
The youth had reportedly sustained injuries while in the custody of the Welikada Police and had subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the National Institute of Mental Health in Angoda on April 02.
