PM office to halve expenses in June
The Prime Minister’s Office has decided to cut down its expenditure by 50% from next month, reports say.
PM’s secretary – Saman Ekanayake has taken the necessary measures based on the PM’s directives issued in the backdrop of the economic crisis the country is facing.
Expenditure of the Prime Minister’s office was Rs. 92m in January, Rs. 99m in February, Rs. 226 million in March and Rs. 75 million in April this year.At the moment 26 staff attached to the PM’s office have been sent back to their original workplaces while 26 vehicles obtained from other state institutions have also been returned, reports say.
