EXPRESSWAY TOLLS UPPED BY FIFTY PERCENT

Expressway tolls to be upped by 50%?

 

It is reported that the government has decided to increase company taxes and expressway tolls in the next fortnight.

It is also said that the finance ministry officials are currently finalizing the percentages of company tax increases.

However, it is reported that everything is set to increase the expressway tolls by more than 50%.

In addition, the government has also planned to increase fees charged for the approval of housing plans and a number of service related charges, during this month.

It is reported that these taxe hikes are being imposed to increase government revenue from 65% to 90% of the GDP.

Reports also indicate that many Sri Lankans are also opting to migrate overseas due to the increase of all costs in the country.

Litro announces amended prices (Update)

Litro Gas has announced the increased prices of their Gas products.

Accordingly, a 12.5 kg, a 5kg and 2.3kg cylinder has been increased by Rs. 80, Rs. 30 and Rs. 15 respectively.

Litro Gas Prices upped

The price of a 12.5 kg domestic cylinder of Litro LP gas is to be increased by an amount between Rs. 200 and Rs. 250 with effect from today (06).

The Litro Gas company said that the exact amount will be announced later.

Lanka Sathosa reduces prices of 05 items with effect from today (03).

A kilo of Sprats (Thai) have been reduced by Rs.200, while a kilo of Wheat flour and white sugar have been reduced by Rs.96 and 22 respectively,

Meanwhile, a kilo of Dhal and large sized locally canned fish have been reduced by Rs.17 and Rs. 105.

2 more international flights to SL this week

Russia’s largest charter airline –  Azur Air and the flag carrier of France – Air France, will resume flights to Sri Lanka starting from this week, Sri Lanka’s Tourism Ministry says.

Azur Air will commence flights to Sri Lanka from tomorrow (November 03) while Air France is scheduled to resume flights from Friday (November 04).

Meanwhile, Tweeting earlier today (02), Tourism Minister Harin Fernando announced that Switzerland’s national airline, Swiss International Air Lines, is now starting operations in Sri Lanka once again with weekly flights starting from November 10, 2022 – May 2023.
