New system of issuing tree felling licenses
The State Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed to issue permits for felling trees after planting suitable trees.
The notification has reportedly been issued through a circular to all District and Divisional Secretaries.
Accordingly, if it is not possible to plant the same plant as specified in the felling license, the circular states that instructions should be given to plant another similar type of plant.
