Filling stations become underworld kingdoms!
The public are facing severe difficulties due to certain filling stations becoming the kingdoms of the underworld, it is reported.
There are reports that certain underworld activists and thugs have infiltrated petrol stations, threatened the staff and people and forcibly supplied fuel to their friends.
In some instances, these activities are taking place in the presence of the police and security forces.
It is these thugs who direct the public queueing at these petrol stations and they sometimes forcibly creep their friends into the queues.
It is also reported that in some areas these thugs stand in line with broken motorcycles and later allow other motorcycles to take their spot for a payment.
The Power and Energy Ministry said that they had received many complaints regarding the fuel supply to essential services being misused.
The public have therefore appealed to the government to take steps to enforce the law against these thugs and underworld figures. They point out that their failure to control these thugs and gangsters will result in the public having to suffer for longer periods at fuel queues.
