Wimal served with indictments
Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa has been served with indictments by Colombo High Court Judge Namal Balalle today (17).
This is in relation to the case filed by the Bribery Commission regarding the ownership of property and assets between 2010 and 2015 worth Rs. 75 million which he could not have earned from his salary as a Minister.
When the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe today, the Attorney General’s Department filed an amended charge sheet. Defendant Wimal Weerawansa said that he was not guilty of the relevant charges.
Accordingly, the case was adjourned till the 28th of this month.
