SLPP Urban councilor nabbed with diesel
The Puttalam Police had arrested, on suspicion, a member of the Puttalam Urban Council who was found to have stored 212 liters of diesel in his house.
The raid was carried out on a tip-off received by the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Puttalam Police Headquarters that diesel was being stored at the MP’s house and sold at a higher price.
Police said that a stock of diesel and several liters of petrol worth nearly Rs. 100,000 was seized during the raid.However, the MP has not clearly stated to the police how he obtained the diesel and the arrested MP is due
