Efforts have been made to tighten security in several areas of Colombo. Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa said that security has been tightened based on information received by intelligence agencies.
Although Police Spokesman didn’t reveal the information intelligence received, Ada Derana reported that this step was taken according to intelligence information received that a group comprising of about 750 people within the University of Colombo was planning to behave in a rebellious manner.
Police spokesperson said that the police, the police special task force, the army and the police anti-riot teams have been deployed.
The Police Media Spokesperson further said that until an update is received on the relevant information received by the intelligence agencies, the relevant security arrangements will be in place. (NewsWire)
