Fowzie gets suspended jail term

Former Minister A.H.M. Fowzie was today (Aug. 27) sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment, suspended for ten years, after pleading guilty to using a vehicle given by a foreign country to the Disaster Management Ministry, for private purposes.

The offence was committed while he was a minister in 2010.
