FUEL ALLEGATIONS CLARIFIED BY SRI LANKA CRICKET

Sri Lanka Cricket clarifies fuel allegations

Sri Lanka Cricket has issued a press release addressing allegations that spread on social media recently. A video that was shared on social media showed people collecting fuel in cans from a bowser at the R. Premadasa Stadium and prompted allegations of fuel sales by the Cricket board.
Refuting the allegations, Sri Lanka Cricket states they are not storing any fuel and is not engaged in reselling them to the public.
Explaining further, it stated that a stock of fuel purchased from Lanka IOC is stored at the R. Premadasa stadium for use during Australia’s Sri Lanka tour, domestic cricket needs and future tournaments.
The fuel will also be used by Sri Lanka Cricket buses, official vehicles, and for field maintenance equipment, it added.
