Norochcholai Generator-One back in operation from Monday Featured
The Generator-One of the Norochcholai Power Plant can be reconnected to the main grid from next Monday (29), the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said.
CEB Spokesperson and Deputy General Manager Andrew Nawamani said that 300 megawatts can be added to the main grid once the generator is reconnected.
A pipe in a part of the generator had to be repaired recently due to a burst, and the Generator-Two has also been defunct due to maintenance work.
Daily power cut was also extended to three hours as a result of the breakdown.
