‘Sarva Pakshika Aragalakaruwo’ calls to abolish civic rights of MR & BR
The ‘Sarva Pakshika Aragalakaruwo’ has stated that the civic rights of several prominent figures should be abolished.
In a statement, they note the civic rights of former PM – Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Finance minister – Basil Rajapaksa, former CBSL governor – Ajith Nivard Cabraal, former Finance secretary – P.B. Jayasundera should be abolished.
Noting that several alarming revelations were made during the COPE committee meeting on May 25, they say that it showed a direct involvement of former President’s secretary – Dr. P.B. Jayasundera in the economic management process. The nature of this involvement is suspicious, they note.
They call for the above-mentioned persons to be arrested over conspiring to destroy the economy and to give them the highest punishment according to the legal provisions of the country.
They further urge that disciplinary action to be taken against officials who had aided and abetted this.
