Preliminary approval has been given to set up an international school, a hospital of international standards, a financial center and a tourist hotel of international standards in the Colombo Port City.The international school, which can cater to about 1,000 students, is a project of about USD 40 million.

The 1,000-bed international hospital is an investment of USD 105 million.The International Financial Center is a USD 500 million investment and construction is scheduled to begin in the next three months.It was reported that about USD 14 million will be spent for the initial construction of a five-star hotel named Marina Hotel which is an investment by the reputed firm LOLC. Accordingly, the total investment value is about USD 650.9 million.
