Haul of drugs seized from Southern seas belongs to Bloemendhal Sanka!
It has now been confirmed that the heroin seized in the deep sea 900 nautical miles south of Sri Lanka belongs to the underworld leader Bloemendhal Sanka.
The haul of drugs is estimated to be worth around Rs. 2.5 billion.It has been revealed during interrogation of the arrested foreigners that the heroin had been sent by the underworld leader who is currently in hiding in Dubai, to be given to his underworld comrades in Sri Lanka.
The trawler with the seized heroin and six foreigners was brought to the Port of Colombo yesterday (15) morning.
Among the arrested foreigners are five Iranians and one Pakistani national.The Police Narcotics Division, the Navy and the State Intelligence Unit conducted a joint operation and arrested the six smugglers with the drugs on the 11th.According to the Narcotics Division, the heroin was packed in 225 packets.
