HEMAS HOSPITAL CANVASSES PATIENTS IN STATE HOSPITALS WHERE OPERATIONS DELAYED OWING TO SHORTAGE OF DRUGS

Hemas Hospital cites a shortage of medicine in state hospitals

It is reported that the Hemas Hospital has started a phone campaign targeting patients on surgery waiting lists at state hospitals.Noting that state hospitals are unable to facilitate necessary surgeries and medicine, the campaign reportedly states that the surgeries can be done at the Hemas Hospital.

Repeated calls by this campaign have become a nuisance to patients, ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ says. However, attempts to contact General Manager of Hemas Hospitals – Mr. Prabhan Gunawardena and marketing manager – Ms. Kasuni Bandara were unsuccessful.

Although complaints have been made to the Private Health Regulatory Council (PHSRC) of the Ministry of Health, they have fallen on deaf ears, reports say.
