INDIAN BORN NEW ZEALAND SLOW LEFT ARM LEG SPINNER AJAZ PATEL TAKES ALL10 INDIAN WICKETS IN THE FIRST INNINGS IN THE 2ND TEST IN MUMBAI ON DAY TWO

New Zealand’s Indian born spinner Ajaz Patel entered the history books as he became the third bowler to take all 10 wickets in a match when he achieved the feat on the second day of the second cricket Test against India in Mumbai on Saturday.

Patel, who took four wickets on the first day that left India at 221 for 4, got into the act once again in the early stages of the first session of the second day when he trapped Wriddhiman Saha leg-before and in the following ball had the wicket of Ravichandran Ashwin who was bowled for a first ball duck.

Entering the fray for another spell, Patel had the scalp of opener and top scorer Mayank Agarwal caught behind for 150 and then had the wickets of Axar Patel (52), Jayant Yadav (12) and Mohammad Siraj for 4 to finish the innings with 10 for 119 .
This was only the third instance any bowler had ten all 10 wickets in an Innings in a test match since 1877 when test cricket began between England and Australia.The tow others who had taken all ten wickets are JIM LAKER of England and Anil Kumble of India.It needs to be emphasized that both of them achieved on their home turfs and in the 2nd innings of the respective tests In England and India…Ajaz Patel has to be recognized more as he did on foreign soil and in the first innings of the 2nd test…
