INDIAN TRAWLERS IN HUNDREDS IN NORTHERN SEAS

Hundreds of Indian trawlers in Northern seas – Northern Fishermen

Due to the shortage of diesel, the Northern fishermen are among the fisherfolk of this country who are lamenting over their inability to go out to sea for fishing.

Due to this, hundreds of fishing boats have been parked in the Jaffna Lagoon for some time, and the Indian fishing boats are capitalizing on this situation and engaging in fishing illegally in the deep waters off the Mandativu and Kites islands, Jaffna fishermen claim.

It is said that a situation has arisen where the Sri Lanka Navy patrols are unable to do anything in this stretch of sea.
