Sabry wants to ban strikes for 6 sectors
Sri Lanka’s Justice Minister has proposed to ban strikes at the key economical strategic bodies, the Ports, Customs, National Water Supply & Drainage Board, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), and the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA).
Ali Sabry PC, speaking during a talk show on a privately-owned radio station in Colombo said such bodies should not be given the right to go on strike and should be prohibited by provisions of the constitution of the country.
