Public Security Minister Tiran Alles says that former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella will be arrested if there is concrete evidence that the latter had been involved in the importation of substandard drugs.

Minister Tiran Alles had said this while responding to a journalist who had queried on the non-arrest of the former Health Minister.

“I usually don’t talk about the goings on of other ministries. However, with regard to this incident, the CID is already investigating. If the investigations lead to concrete evidence proving that the minister is in the wrong, they will also arrest him. But there must be evidence. It will not happen just because the media and political parties call for the arrest of the minister. At the present, some have already been arrested. Then I saw in the media that there were calls to arrest the Ministry Secretary. The secretary was only arrested because incriminating evidence existed. If such evidence exists against the minister, he too will be arrested. There will be no difference,” he said.
