India – SL Navies coordinate to seize large stock of ICE
Based on intelligence provided by the Sri Lanka Navy, the Indian Navy intercepted a local fishing trawler carrying a large consignment of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE) with a group of Sri Lankan suspects, as well as another local fishing trawler with a group of Sri Lankan suspects linked to this illegal act, on 24th and 25th November 2024 in Indian waters.
The fishing trawlers seized in this operation, along with those suspects and narcotics were handed over to SLNS Gajabahu by Indian Navy today (Nov. 29) and they are being escorted ashore by the Sri Lanka Navy for onward legal action.
