Luxury Car catches fire on Southern Expressway
A luxury car travelling from Wattala to Kataragama caught fire suddenly at Tammannawa Manikwala Junction, according to the police.
The driver told the police that this car is worth around Rs. 21 million.
A resident of Wattala, Ederamulla, railway station was travelling in the car along with his friend to Kataragama via Mattala Lunugamwehera on the Southern Expressway at around 11:00 p.m., when they noticed smoke emanating from the left side of the vehicle and it had caught fire thereafter. The driver had stopped the car and jumped out with his friend. The Kataragama police said that the two passengers were not injured in the incident.
