It is reported that university undergraduates have not received their Mahapola and Bursary allowance for a period of 04 months.
The last time they had received these allowances were in April. Even then, there had been an arrears of two payments, reports say.
At the present, the monthly Mahapola and Bursary allowance stands at Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 4,000 respectively.
The non payment of these allowances has seriously inconvenienced undergraduates, especially those who hail from humble backgrounds.
