Approval to import 38,500 metric tons of KCI to import 
Cabinet approval has been granted to import 38,500 metric tons of potassium chloride (KCl) fertilizer required for paddy cultivation in the Yala season 2022.
Following the international competitive bidding process, the fertilizer will be imported and distributed under the Government Fertilizer Subsidy.
The proposal was made by Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
