Motion filed against Mahinda-Basil and several others
A motion has been filed with the Supreme Court today (12) by three persons including civil activist Chandra Jayaratne, seeking an order prohibiting former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa, Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard and several others from leaving the country.
The Supreme Court fixed the date to consider this petition again for the 14th.
This motion was considered today (12) before a Supreme Court bench comprising Murdu Fernando, Gamini Amarasekara and Achala Vengappuli.
The petition was filed by renowned Sri Lankan swimmer and Coach Julian Bolling, Civil Activist Chandra Jayaratne and another.
The petitioners have filed these petitions before the Supreme Court asking for an investigation and action against those responsible for the country’s economic crisis.
