Sri Lankans sing National Anthem in Tamil at Galle Face protest

 

Sri Lanka’s national anthem has been sung in Tamil language at the Galle Face protest currently underway against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The anthem was also sung in the majority Sinhalese earlier.

National Anthem was sung in official public events after 2016 but President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Government stopped the practice in 2020. (NewsWire)
