Financial fraud at Mr. Sri Lanka competition?
It is alleged that a financial fraud had taken place at the Mr. Sri Lanka competition recently organised by the Sri Lanka Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
The national organiser of the Federation – Udaya Kumara is charged with committing this fraud.
It is said that a Sri Lankan living in South Korea named Tharanga Vidanelage had donated Rs. 200,000 to be presented to the winner of the competition. However, the money which was given to Udaya Kumara, has gone missing without a trace.
The money had been deposited to the private bank account of Mr. Kumara.According to rules, sports associations registered with the Ministry of Sports cannot do transactions via private bank accounts.
