Fuel shed looted in Nawala

The Mirihana Police stated that five persons who had arrived at a petrol station in Nawala this morning (18) brandishing sharp weapons and wearing turbans had assaulted the workers at the station and robbed them of their money and fled.

The robbers had come in a three wheeler on the pretext of buying fuel carrying barrels. When they had come near the person who was pumping the fuel, they had attacked the worker and had taken the weapons from the three wheeler and threatened the fuel station workers and robbed the cash collection.

So far the exact amount stolen by the robbers has not been determined and the entire incident had been recorded on the CCTV camera installed at the fuel station.

The Mirihana Police said that they had received important information regarding the robbers and investigations are underway to apprehend the suspects very soon.
