NEW CABINET TO SWEAR IN ON THE 18TH APRIL SANS RAJAPAKSA CLAN

New cabinet to swear in on April 18th

The new Cabinet is to swear in next Monday (18), reports say.

The government delegation is scheduled to leave on the same day for discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). It is said that the cabinet is to be sworn in before that as it is important for the government to portray political stability in the country.

‘Lankadeepa’ reports that although the government has invited multiple parties to accept new ministerial portfolios, they have refused to accept. In this backdrop, former ministers as well as several state ministers who have shown high performance levels are to be sworn in as the ministers of the new Cabinet, it adds.

However, it is reported that Basil Rajapaksa, Chamal Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa and Shashindra Rajapaksa will not be included in the new cabinet.
