New DG appointed to Info. Dept.
Mr. Dinith Chinthaka Karunaratne has been appointed as the new Director General of the Government Information Department.
He has assumed duties earlier today (08).He replaces Mr. Mohan Samaranayake who was appointed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Mr. Karunaratne, who has been a journalist for several decades, has also worked as a media advisor to the President.
