Charges for new water connections have been increased with effect from today (18).

In a statement, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said the fee to obtain a new domestic water connection has increased by 70%.

The NWSDB attributed the cost to the price of raw materials and the shortage of raw materials in order to provide new water connections.
