Russian Embassy clarifies reports on Sri Lanka’s BRICS bid
The Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka has clarified recent reports on Sri Lanka’s bid to join BRICS, describing an article in a local newspaper as misleading.
According to the Embassy, Sri Lanka’s application is still under review, and the Russian BRICS Chairship has welcomed the nation’s interest.
The application, along with others, will be considered through consensus among BRICS members. The Embassy emphasized that reports claiming Sri Lanka’s application has been rejected are incorrect.
