Survey to be conducted on food quality
The Health Ministry has decided to conduct a survey on the quality of food consumed by the Sri Lankans.
The Food control Administration Unit of the ministry said the quality of imported and locally produced food types will be inspected.
It said that more than 25 types of essential foods will be selected for this survey and sample collecting will begin next month.
The ministry said that many issues have arisen regarding the quality of foods imported into Sri Lanka in the past.
