Judges Association raises concern over Justice Minister’s comments

The Judicial Services Association of Sri Lanka has raised concerns over recent statements made in Parliament against the judiciary, stating that it has observed an ongoing effort aimed at discrediting impartial judges.

Issuing a statement, the Association made remarks over the statements against the judiciary made by Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe in Parliament recently.

Addressing the Parliament, Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe highlighted corruption in the lower courts of Sri Lanka.

The Judicial Services Association, which consists of district judges and magistrates, pointed out that such statements could cause conflict between the Executive and Legislature.
