Yashoda top ranked in NPL list – Daya 6th
The Yashoda Group has been in the top 10 non-performing loans (NPLs) category for the past 5 years, from 2017 to 2021, according to a State Bank rating.
This information was revealed during the Committee on Public Enterprises’ audit on 04 May 2022 on the Bank’s 2018 – 2019 performance and current performance.
In addition to the Yashoda Group, CML, MTD Group, Mihin Lanka Pvt. Ltd., W. M. Mendis Pvt. Ltd., Hurawi International, Daya Apparel Group & Nawaloka Group, Good Fellows Pvt. Ltd., Rikan Lanka Pvt. Ltd and Greylion Express occupy the top ten positions in the NPL rankings.
According to reports, the balance of the top 10 non-performing loans by 2020 will be 45.94 percent or Rs. 14,910.66 million compared to 2017.
Daya Apparel Group, owned by Daya Gamage, who served as the Minister of Primary Industries and Social Empowerment during the good governance regime, is ranked 6th out of the 10 non-performing loans.
