Probe over political questions in school exam paper

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that an immediate investigation has been launched at the ministerial level regarding questions of a political nature being included in a school term exam paper.

In a statement, the Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. J.M. Thilaka Jayasundara, noted that relevant officials have already been provided with instructions to address the issue.

The investigation pertains to the inclusion of five questions related to a political party in the Common General Test paper provided to Advanced Level students during the second term examination at C.W.W. Kannangara Central College in the Kalutara District.

The Secretary clarified that the controversial question paper was prepared solely by the school and has no affiliation with the ministry or any other external institution.

Necessary actions will be taken following the probe, she added.
