122 independent groups place deposits for General Election
The Election Commission said that a total of 122 independent groups have placed deposits to contest in the upcoming 2024 General Election as of Friday (October 4).
36 of these groups had placed deposits yesterday alone.
According to the EC, the highest number of independent groups which have placed deposits so far are from the Jaffna and Mannar electorates.
