Public Health Inspectors had gone to the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo after a customer at ‘The Dining Room’ restaurant had complained about a seasoning unfit for consumption.
‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ learns that a couple made a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant to dine with their two children. One of them had added ‘pepper’ to season a bowl of soup.
However, the seasoning had smelled off and upon complaining, the head chef and manager had debated that it is not possible.
However, the staff had taken away the soup and a lime juice had been served to the table, on the house.
Regardless, the customer had informed of this to the Fort PHI office. Subsequently, PHIs arriving at the venue had taken samples of the soup for testing.
