Letters pertaining to Ranjan’s release, signed!
Former Member of Parliament Ranjan Ramanayake has signed the documents related to the obtaining of presidential pardon today (13).
It is reported that President’s Counsel Dinesh Vidanapathirana had presented the relevant documents to Ranjan Ramanayake as per the instructions of President Ranil Wickremasinghe.
Speaking to the media, a brother of Ranjan Ramanayake, Dinesh Asarappa said that although there were reports on social media that Ranjan had been freed, what happened today was the signing of several documents pertaining to his release.
As Ranjan had said at the hearing, these letters that he signed sought forgiveness from the judicial sector if his statements had hurt any of their feelings.
