PEDIATRICIANS WARNS ON SHORTAGE OF DRUGS AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR SMOOTH FUNCTIONING OF PEDIATRIC WARDS

Children’s lives in danger amidst crisis – pediatricians 

Sri Lankan pediatricians say there is a shortage of medicines and medical equipment required for the smooth functioning of pediatric units island wide in the face of the economic crisis in the country.

In a letter to Sri Lankans living abroad the Institute of Paediatrics of Sri Lanka has stated that economic experts have predicted that this situation is bound to worsen.

Accordingly, they have requested the expatriate Sri Lankan community to donate medicines and consumables to ensure the essential health needs of Sri Lankan children.
