PLANS DRAWN TO LEASE FIFTEEN HECTARES OF MATTALA AIRPORT FOR CONSTRUTION OF TWO HOTELS

Fifteen hectares of Mattala Airport to be leased to two hotels!

The Ministry of Tourism has planned to reserve 15 hectares of the Mattala International Airport terminal building for two hotels under a 35 year contract, it is reported.

It plans to build two four-star hotels with 160 rooms (with provisions to expand up to 250 rooms) with sports, leisure facilities, gymnasiums, massage parlors, swimming pools, outdoor restaurants, business centers, conventions and banking facilities, and office space, it is learnt.

Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga had submitted a Cabinet paper for this purpose.
