Mahanayaka Theros write to the President on new electricity tariffs
The Mahanayake Theros of the four main Buddhist Sects in Sri Lanka have written to the President over the amended electricity tariffs which have affected the places of worship.
In their letter, the Mahanayake Theros have proposed that initiating a solar power project centering around Temples would be a long-term solution.
They also point out that it is not acceptable to put the entire burden of the economic crisis on the public without preparing a proper mechanism to prevent misuse and destruction of public funds.
