PM’S CALL TO HOLD TALKS HAS NO RESPONSE

No favourable response for the PM’s call to hold talks

Despite PM Mahinda Rajapaksa expressing his willingness to hold discussions with those who are currently protesting near the Presidential secretariat, the protestors have given a favourable response, reports say.

It is said that the lack of a leader for the movement has also become a reason.

However, the peaceful, civil protest at the venue, which has been continuing since last Saturday, has been calling for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Rajapaksa clan to resign.

Noting that the 225 MPs in parliament are also unaccountable, they are calling for them to resign as well.
