Former Director of the CID – Shani Abeysekara has filed a case at the Colombo District Court, seeking a compensation of Rs. 1,000 million.

He is seeking compensation for tarnishing his image by misusing the judicial process after arresting and remanding him on false charges.

IGP Chandana Wickremaratne, DIG of Western Province – Deshabandu Tennakoon, ASP Neville Silva, IP Jagath Nishantha and Attorney General have been named as respondents.
