PROTECT MEDICINE STOCKS WARNS GMOA

Shortage of drugs: Protect your medicine stocks

The Government Medical Officers’ Association says that the people should be more careful due to the crisis situation in the country.

The association also points out that people should make sure to use the drugs in their possession sparingly without wasting the drugs they have.

This was stated by the Member of the Media Committee of the Government Medical Officers’ Association Dr. Prasad Colombage at a media briefing held today (27).

“There is a shortage of medicines at this time. Also, due to transportation difficulties, people need to understand that they need to be careful. Take care of the medicines you have. Use the medication in moderation without wasting it. Be careful even when engaging in any household work because in the event of an accident, finding transport to get to a hospital is also problematic. Even doctors and other medical staff are experiencing transport difficulties. Therefore, we urge the public to be very careful and take good care of their children as the existing stock of medicines is not sufficient. The existing stocks of medicines are reducing and in fact the peoples live are in somewhat danger due to the lack of transport facilities and the breakdown of health facilities.”
