The National People’s Power (NPP) staged a mass protest before the National Election Commission in Rajagiriya today.

The protest was held to urge the Election Commission to hold the Local Government Elections which have been delayed by nearly 3 months.

Candidates of the NPP who were set to contest in the Local Government polls participated in the protest today.

The government has repeatedly postponed the Local Council elections citing a lack of funds.
