Previous visa issuance system reinstated
The government has officially reinstated the previous visa issuance system, effective from midnight today (Sep. 26).
Minister of Public Security Vijitha Herath has said that the government has taken steps in the past 24 hours to address the visa issuance issues that have arisen.
This will enable all foreigners to obtain visa easily online, the minister added.
The government has also initiated an immediate forensic audit to examine the irregularities related to the services provided to VFS. This audit will thoroughly investigate the discrepancies, and appropriate legal action will be taken as required, the minister further noted.
