Opposition Leader questions Govt order to stop accepting deposits for LG Polls
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has questioned a directive given by the Cabinet of Ministers to stop accepting deposits for Local Council Elections.
Opposition Leader said that a letter has been sent to all district secretaries ordering them not to accept deposits from political parties for the upcoming Local Council Elections.
Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government has issued the order to all District Secretaries to refrain from accepting candidate bail deposits until further notice. (NewsWire)
