Test, ODI & T20I : Three new captains for Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka’s new cricket selectors are reportedly considering the appointment of three captains for the different formats of cricket (Test, ODI, and T20I).

The new selection committee, led by Upul Tharanga, recently met and discussed the possibility of naming three captains for the three formats.

According to SLC sources, Dhananjaya De Silva is expected to take over the Test captaincy from Dimuth Karunaratne, while Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga are slated to be captains for ODI and T20I, respectively.

Kusal Mendis is likely to be the vice-captain of the Test side, and Charith Asalanka is set to be the vice-captain of the T20I and ODI sides.

Selectors are anticipated to make a final decision when they convene next week to finalize the squad for the Zimbabwe ODI and T20I series.
